Mr. Tucker began his career representing businesses and individuals in complex litigation and regulatory matters at two of the largest International law firms: Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP and Morgan Lewis, LLP.
After ten years of major law firm experience, Mr. Tucker was recruited by the investment management firm Putnam Investments to run Putnam’s litigation department. At the time Putnam was experiencing a period of unprecedented litigation and regulatory crisis and Mr. Tucker’s mandate was to strategically defend numerous lawsuits and regulatory enforcement actions.
As Putnam’s Deputy General Counsel - Litigation, Mr Tucker was a trusted C-Suite advisor, who brought his expertise in litigation and risk mitigation to all of Putnam’s business divisions. Mr. Tucker guided and directed executive leadership on existing and evolving laws and legal trends that impacted all aspects of business operations. Mr. Tucker advised on litigation, regulatory compliance, transactional matters, contract interpretations, budgeting and finance concerns, strategic crisis management, and cybersecurity and privacy issues, internal investigations, human resource issues and insurance issues. Mr. Tucker directed the successful prosecution and defense of significant federal and state court jury and bench trials, class actions, arbitrations and mediations, appeals, and conducted numerous investigations.
Mr. Tucker earned his Juris Doctorate degree with high honors (magna cum laude) after attending both Temple Law School and Harvard Law School. Mr. Tucker also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the University of Massachusetts. Mr. Tucker is a past Board member of the New England Legal Foundation where he was a member of the Litigation Review and Approval Committee. Mr. Tucker is a current member of the Boston Bar Association Financial Services and Civil Enforcement Committees.
